Morning Lessons
Five mornings each week are spent focusing on classroom based English learning. The lessons are designed especially for multi-national classes and are tailored to children aged 8-12. The students are tested on arrival to gauge their level and placed in classes on the basis of level, age and nationality. Every student receives 15 hours of lessons each week from qualified, friendly teachers. The maximum number of students in a class is 15, so every student will receive individual attention.
Project work and day trip preparation
When learning a language, it's important that it is put into a real context to enable students to express their interests and experiences. Each week the students work on a group project, such as the school magazine, to put their English into practice. They'll also have a lesson to prepare them for their day trips.
Reports and certificates
Students' progress is monitored closely during their stay and on departure all students receive a Norman Court International Summer School Certificate, plus a progress report.
The syllabus
The Norman Court Summer School syllabus focuses on communication and fluency and has been specifically designed for students aged 8 to 12. We use modern language teaching techniques, encouraging students to develop their English by providing them with information that is practical and useful.
